Okadaya Hat: New Free Pattern

Okadaya is a craft megastore in the Shinjuku area of Tokyo. My trips to this store and to its treasure of local and international yarns inspired this quick hat pattern.

The Japanese appreciate details and you can give your hat its own finishing touch with crocheted pompoms. This stash-busting hat looks best in a self-striping yarn like the gorgeous Noro I found in Okadaya or any bulky yarn. Sizes are provided for the whole family.

I recommend using Noro Furisode or Odori yarns to make yourself a unique hat with cute pompom embellishments.  If you don’t have access to Noro, substitute a single-ply gradient or self striping bulky yarn in wool or wool/cotton blend.

This pattern is available for FREE.  On Ravelry and Craftsy.

Happy Knitting.
