Here she is – Debbie the Dolphin
I named her after my mother, who worked as a nurse in the hospital nursery for years. Dolphins are known to serve as midwives by assisting other dolphins with birth and flipping the babies out of the water to breathe.
Debbie is worked as one piece in spirals starting at her nose. This pattern is worked primarily in sc, however a few rows use bsc (backwards single crochet). Sections of stitches at the sides and top of the body are worked in the back loop only (BLO) to create placement for the fins. Simple increases and decreases are used to shape the head, body and fins.
Photo tutorials for bsc and blo are included in the pattern. This pattern is great for amigurumi crocheters who hate sewing all the pieces together.
